I finished a lot of products this month. Bringing me one step closer to streamlining my makeup collection! Yay for progress! → Check out my makeup goals
Pearlessence Cucumber Water Hydrating Face Mist – I picked this up at Winners for $10. I liked that it came in a glass bottle and the scent is refreshing.
Repurchase? No. Sometimes it kind of burned if my lips were dry or chapped.
The Body Shop All-in-One BB Cream Colour-Adapting Tinted Cream (read my review) – I gave this a 5/5 in my review, but since then, I have tried the Lancome Skin Feels Good Skin Nourishing Foundation which I really love (read my review).
Repurchase? Probably not. I really like it, but I looove the Lancome Skin Feels Good Skin Nourishing Foundation.
Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer in 01 Creamy Vanilla – This was a very thick foundation/concealer, if you used a beauty sponge to blend it, it could sheer out a bit. It looked nice, but it was way too full coverage for me. I’d rather use a sheer, dewy foundation and then use a spot concealer on areas that need covering up. I would’ve used this more as a concealer, but the shade I bought was a tad too yellow for me. So, if I didn’t use it all over the face, I would have random yellow splotches on my face. It had a bit of a perfume-y scent to it that I didn’t really like. I didn’t really give this a proper wear test. I mostly used it when I was practising my makeup techniques and taking pictures for Instagram.
L’Oréal Colour Riche Collection Exclusive Lipstick in 370 Jennifer’s Nude – This is one of my fave lipsticks! It’s interesting because when I swatch it on my arm, it’s like a sheer peachy-pink, but when it’s on my lips, it’s a beautiful pinky-nude.
Repurchase? I bought another tube a few months after purchasing the first one because I thought it was going to be limited edition. I think I will wait until I’ve used up some other lipsticks before breaking out the new tube though.
Repurchase? They no longer sell GOSH at Shoppers Drug Mart, I’ll have to find a replacement once I finish the two others I have.
Jergens Natural Glow + Nourish Daily Moisturizer in Fair to Medium – This natural glow moisturizer looks good and lasts a week or so once you stop using it. Like any self tanner, be careful not to apply too much at the joints (ankles, knees, elbows, etc.). I don’t love the smell of this one because it has black tea in it (I believe that’s what I don’t like about the scent). I haven’t searched high and low, but the drugstores I’ve been to only have the ones with black tea so I don’t know if it’s the moisturizer itself or the addition of the black tea.
Live Clean Exotic Nectar Argan Oil Restorative Shampoo – I don’t love the smell of this one, but it does make my hair look shiny and feel soft.
Repurchase? Not this particular Live Clean shampoo.
Live Clean Apple Cider Ultra Light Conditioner – Like the shampoo, this conditioner smells like apple juice to me. It doesn’t make my hair feel as soft as the other ones.
Repurchase? Not this particular Live Clean conditioner.
Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Daily Scrub – This one that I had was really old. It had microbeads in it. I recently purchased the grapefruit one which also had microbeads which is weird because I thought they stopped making products with microbeads. Maybe it was the last of the bunch. I didn’t like the smell of this one, I prefer the grapefruit.
L’Oréal Sublime Soft Micellar Gelee Eye Makeup Remover (read my review) – This was an impulse buy and a product I thought would be interesting to review on the blog. It worked, but it was kind of messy. It’s best to use in the shower or use with a cotton pad or wash cloth.
Repurchase? No, I’d rather use micellar water.
Repurchase? Yes. It’s a bit expensive, but since it can be used as a mask and removes makeup, it does a little more than the average cleanser.
Boscia Sake Treatment Water – I had a travel-sized sample of this and although it was nice and light, I don’t really know if I used it correctly. My skin did feel hydrated, but I can’t know for sure if it was because of other products I was using or if this contributed to it.
Repurchase? No, it’s too expensive.
The Ordinary “Buffet” Multi-Technology Peptide Serum – After my initial first impressions review, I realized just how tacky it made my face feel (read my review). I want a skincare product that doesn’t feel tacky or cause my makeup to pill.
The Face Shop Chia Seed Hydrating Toner – I liked it and it smelled pretty nice, but I love the Pixi Glow Tonic more.
Repurchase? Probably not.
COSRX BHA Blackhead Power Liquid – I know a lot of people rave about this product. I’m not sure if it did anything for me.
Repurchase? Probably not.
The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA – I did not like this at all, it was way too thick for me.
The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Targeted Gel Blemish Stick (read my review) – This is great for spot treatments. It takes some time, but it will help the blemish dry up. It’s not as fast as salicylic acid or other spot treatments.
Repurchase? This product works well, but I think I will try a different spot treatment. I will continue buying products from The Body Shop’s Tea Tree Oil line though.
Pixi Peel & Polish (read my review)- I love Pixi products and this works, but I don’t love the smell of it. I know it’s a product that you use and then wipe off fairly quickly, but there’s other products I’ve tried that smell better or have no scent at all.
Repurchase? Probably not.
