I’ve decided that in addition to my low buy, I’m not going to repurchase any of my favourite makeup products this year – #NoRepurchaseRule. Meaning that once I finish a product, I can’t buy it again and have to try something new (I also can’t buy it in a different shade if it’s a highlighter or something). This way, I can see what’s out there. As much as I love makeup, I haven’t really tried that much and I mostly stick to mainstream brands because they’re easier to get. So, this little ‘rule’ will make me try new brands and products I’ve never tried before.
PROJECT PAN UPDATE
Okay, so it turns out that I was closer to finishing some of those products than I thought. I am very close to finishing the Make Up For Ever Step 1 Equalizer Primer and I’ve finished the Smashbox Under Eye Primer, MAC Radiant Primer, and Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick. I decluttered the Essence Eyeshadow Base because it was older than I thought. I also decided to declutter the Burt’s Bees Blush because I was just using it to finish it and not because I loved it. It’s a gorgeous shade, but I have a love-hate relationship with blush. I either apply too little or too much and making that mistake with a pink blush is not good. I don’t want to look like a clown. Anyway, I have been leaning towards the peachy/nude/coral shades lately instead of bright pink.
So, because I finished so many, I have added some more products:
- Bobbi Brown Lip Color in Bare Pink
- MAC Cremesheen Glass in It’s A Strike
- Marcelle Velvet Gel Lip Liner in Rosy Nude
- MAC Patentpolish in Kittenish
- TheBalm Batter Up Eyeshadow Sticks in Dugout and Shutout → REVIEW
- Lancome Skin Feels Good Skin Nourishing Foundation in 01N Nude Vanilla → REVIEW
I don’t think I’ll finish all of these, but I want to make sure I use them more.
Would you ever do the No Repurchase Rule? Can you live without your favourites?
